For over 12 years Nickajack Farms has been offering educational programming on the farm. We are excited to announce we have added to our programs. Remember each tour with the (exception of the Corn Maze/Hay Ride) includes*:
- A scenic 1/2 hour hay ride around the fields and crops of the farm.
- Unguided visit to Farmer Joe’s Barnyard, Rascal’s Roundup, Play Ground, Discovery Barn, Activity Barn and Horse Education Center.
- Each student will receive a Nickajack Farms coloring book. This special book focus’s on agriculture and food production.
- Feel free to bring lunch!
WHERE OUR FOOD COMES FROM – $6.50 STUDENT Schedule Today!
Your guide will teach you about the life Cycle of a food plant and its products. Learn about farming, shipping and delivery to the store. We will also explore how farms grow and harvest food.
HISTORY OF FARMING SCAVENGER HUNT –$6.50 per student Schedule Today!
Join your guide for a presentation about the basics of Farm History and some of the cool agriculture technology that came from early history collaborations. Then head out on the farm with your class for a fun filled scavenger hunt!

You will head up to Farmer Joes Barnyard where guide will teach you about the various farm animals and how they impact your life everyday.

HORSES IN THE UNITED STATES – $8.00 Student Schedule Today!
Students will learn about where horses came from , horse evolution and their uses today. They will also spend some time talking about why the state of Ohio is one of the leaders in the Equine industry. This is a great learning experience for older students 4th grade and up.
HORSE ANATOMY – $8.00 Student Schedule Today!
Educators will cover: a general overview of Horse Anatomy, conformation standards and conformation flaws. Students will spend time looking at several horses and determine their best look based on conformation.
BASIC HORSEMANSHIP AND WHY – $8.50 Student Schedule Today!
Students will learn about safety, specifics of handling horses and basic procedures to keep handlers and horse happy and healthy. Students will learn grooming techniques, handling the horse in the stall, pasture and leading. They will practice grooming, learning about which tools are used when. They will also cover hoof care and trimming.
