The Harvest is a very special time of the year and the perfect backdrop to a tour about agriculture. It is an opportunity to share in the fruits of the labor.

Fall Field Trips and Tours

HOW A PUMPKIN GROWS TOUR  – $6.50 STUDENT  Schedule Now!

  • 2015 field trip 18Your guide will teach you about the life cycle of a pumpkin as you explore the many varieties we grow at Nickajack Farms.
  • Take a scenic 1/2 hour hay ride around the fields and crops of the farm
  • Unguided visit to the Activity Barn, Discovery Barn and Barnyard Animals as you learn how agriculture affects your everyday life. Have fun in Rascals Round Up and the Playground!
  • Each student will receive a pumpkin! It will be the perfect size for them to transport home.
  • Each student will receive a Nickajack Farms coloring book. This special book focuses on agriculture and food production.

MEET THE CRITTER TOUR -$6.00 STUDENT  Schedule Now!

  • <Your guide will teach you about the various farm animals and how they impact your life everyday.
  • Take a scenic half an hour hay ride around the fields and crops of the farm.

NEW! BASIC HORSEMANSHIP AND WHY -$8.50 STUDENT  Schedule Now!

72825148Students will learn about safety, specifics of handling horses and basic procedures to keep handlers and horse happy and healthy. Students will learn grooming techniques, handling the horse in the stall, pasture and leading. They will practice grooming, learning about which items are used when and they will also cover hoof care and trimming.

 

 

 

CORN MAZE/ HAY RIDE Visit – $5.00 STUDENT  Schedule Now!

  • Take a scenic half an hour hay ride around the fields and crops of the farm.
  • Each student will receive a pumpkin! It will be the perfect size for them to transport home.

  • Note that this visit does not include any other activities on the farm.
